Raising Children Today

Many parents wants to raise their children well and with good manners. How do you draw the line between good discipline or being careless. If you in western countries, spanking is not allowed. If you live in other countries, spanking plus other disciplines are the norms of the day.

I was raised with the notion "Spare the road, spoil the child".  Today things are different. Children tend to understand talking than my generation. What do you think? Spanking or Talking?
